Tours


Special tours have been arranged exclusively for the Conference Participants. The starting poing is at the Parliament Palace. Booking in advance is recommended, on-site availability cannot be guaranteed. Conference Secretariat reserves the right to cancel the tour for which a minimum number of participants have not registered.


Bucharest tours

T1 - Bucharest City Tour

A Bucharest sightseeing guided tour along the major boulevards in Bucharest. The city architecture and the main touristic point can be admired: Mitropoly Church and Palace, Old Court, Manuc Inn, University Square, Victoriei Avenue, Kiseleff Avenue, Triumph Arch, Village Museum.

  • Visit the Village Museum, open air museum, village architecture and crafts from all over Romania, one of the first in Europe;
  • Visit the Archbishop's Complex and Church;
  • Visit the National Art Museum

T2 - Bucharest - Sinaia - Bran - Brasov - Bucharest tour (approx 400km)

A one day tour that includes famous tourist attractions in Romania, driving through one of the most picturesque valleys crossing the Carpatian mountains.
 

  • Sinaia - PELES CASTLE, the Former Royal Palace and SINAIA MONASTERY visit
  • BRAN CASTLE - also known as „Dracula’s Castle”. Visit the Count’s Domain and lunch

T3 - Bucharest - Snagov monastery (Vlad Tepes’s grave) and Mogosoaia palace - Bucharest

Built as a manor house between the two most important cities at that time, Bucharest and Targoviste, under the reigning Prince Constantin Brancoveanu, Mogosoaia is a mix of Venetian and Turkish style architecture. These influences lead to the formation of the classical Southern Romanian style of Brancoveanu.

T4 - Bucharest - Targoviste - Curtea de Arges - Bucharest (aprox 400 km)

According to tradition, Curtea de Arges was founded in the early 14th century by Prince Radu Negru. The town succeeded Campulung as the capital of Wallachia, hence its name Curtea (The Court). Another stunning architectural gem is the 16th century Curtea de Arges Monastery (Manastirea Curtea de Arges), toppled with two towers spiraling in opposite directions. Romania's first two kings and queens are buried here.




  • Visit Targoviste: 14th century Princely Court (Curtea Domneasca) and Chindiei Watchtower (Turnul Chindiei)
  • Curtea de Arges: visit the 14th-century Princely Court and the Princely Church, with its lovely interior frescoes.
  • Lunch in Curtea de Arges
  • Return to Bucharest
